MOUNTAIN REGIONS

Mountain range governance comes to live through the activities of diverse and countless organizations and individuals. They give meaning to specific mountain ranges as they describe, define, inhabit, cherish, and transform them. You can learn about specific lessons, experiences and set-ups of mountain range governance in the Andes, Alps and the Carpathians in this Mountains Connect Brief: Experience exchange between the Andes, Alps and Carpathians – Exploring mountain governance paths for climate resilient development.

There are few mountain regions, where some kind of governance – in the broadest sense of the term that implies collective decision-making – has not developed. The Mountains Connect site offers insights into the origins and evolution of several mountain regions, including all Adaptation at Altitude partner regions that appear in the videos.

From here or from the menu in the top bar, you may explore a separate page for each mountain region.
